MehrWetter

“MehrWetter” is a helpful service app for transmitting weather information within Germany and Europe. The app offers location-based weather forecasts including severe weather news, overview information on German and European weather as well as weather-related notifications for leisure activities.

The following weather information is provided in detail:

• Current weather for the current location and up to 10 individually selected locations within Germany and Europe

• 10-day forecasts for the selected locations with 3-hour detail values

• Severe weather warnings for the selected locations with detailed warning texts – accurate to the zip code or geo-coordinates

• Notification (push notification) of acute severe weather warnings up to 48 hours in advance – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year

• Notifications (push notification) for freezing rain, heat from 30 degrees, air frost from -10 degrees and the first ground frost

• Detailed map views for Germany with current weather films (precipitation, clouds, lightning)

• Previous day hit lists: daily values ​​for temperature (min./max.), maximum precipitation total, wind strength and sunshine duration

• Weather forecasts for leisure activities (in three levels) such as cycling, walking, golf, winter sports, barbecues, sailing, sunbathing, excursions, parks and stargazers

• Notification (push notification) about the forecasts for carrying out leisure activities

The severe weather warnings and weather advisories come from the UBIMET Group's severe weather center. Warnings are issued by the meteorologists at the severe weather center in the event of acute storms/hurricanes, heavy rain, heavy snowfall, thunderstorms (with heavy rain, hail and squalls), black ice rain, 1st ground frost, air frost from -10 degrees and heat from 30 degrees. All severe weather warnings are accurate to the zip code and the weather information is displayed over a large area.

Various internationally leading and specially developed weather models as well as special analysis methods and algorithms are used for the weather and severe weather forecasts.

These are supplemented by a wide range of observation data from national weather services as well as data from other networks, such as UBIMET's own lightning detection network. Under the supervision and constant checking of the meteorologists at the severe weather center, the current weather situation is always recorded in the best possible way and targeted forecasts can be made early and carefully.
