Dayak Island (Kalimantan/Borneo) is recorded as the third largest island in the world, covering an area of ​​743,330 square kilometers, after Greenland Island in Denmark (mainland Europe) covering an area of ​​2,175,600 square kilometers, and Papua New Guinea covering an area of ​​785,753 square kilometers. The Dayak tribe, as the indigenous population of Dayak Island, has citizenship of the Republic of Indonesia, citizenship of the Federation of Malaysia and citizenship of the Kingdom of Brunei Darussalam.

Based on the findings of the Banjarmasin Archaeological Center, South Kalimantan Province, Indonesia, in 1998, the Dayak tribe was the original population on the island of Borneo, with the discovery of the Nan Sarunai Kingdom, a kingdom belonging to the Dayak Maanyan tribe in Amuntai, the capital of North Hulu Sungai Regency, South Kalimantan Province ( founded 139 BC), as the oldest Dayak kingdom in Indonesia.

DIO stands for Dayak International Organization, an international organization belonging to the Dayak people, specifically engaged in preserving Dayak culture from the territory of the Republic of Indonesia, the territory of the Federation of Malaysia and the territory of the Kingdom of Brunei Darussalam, based on the 2019 Tumbang Anoi Protocol.
