Technological advancements have also manifested themselves in the food sector, and ready-to-eat foods produced using food additives have taken their place on the shelves. Today, it is almost impossible to find a product without additives. Considering the fact that we consume approximately our own weight in additives through the food we eat in a year, the necessity of developing a strategy that is compatible with additives but minimizes their harm becomes apparent. The first step in this is to get to know additives closely.

Food additives are associated with many diseases, from allergies and migraines to hyperactivity and cancer. In addition, there are numerous additives derived from animal sources that are important in terms of our beliefs and individual preferences.

This application presents information found in encyclopedias in a practical way. With this application, you will easily understand which products are healthier in terms of food additives and which are more suitable for our beliefs and personal preferences.

The application evaluates all additives that are technically classified as food additives and have an E number, in other words, those included in the Turkish Food Codex.

In addition, there are some additives used in food that are not classified as food additives. These substances do not have E numbers. These substances are not included in the application. Perhaps, in time, these types of substances found in food may be included in this application. Therefore, you may not find all the substances you see on food labels in this program.

The program was largely created using books written by Prof. Dr. Fatih Gültekin on food additives. In some areas, the Halal and Healthy Food Platform was also used. Therefore, every piece of information written has a source. Those who want detailed information can refer to the paid version of the program or directly to the books.

Our aim is to increase consumer awareness while simultaneously communicating consumer preferences to producers. It is not intended to praise or criticize any brand or product.
