This book consists of eight chapters. Each chapter begins with a context or theme that can easily be found around students, which is related to the science material that will be discussed. Students are invited to have awareness as global citizens who are responsible for responding to global issues. Students can contribute to resolving current global issues, for example the Covid-19 virus pandemic, environmental pollution, global warming, food security, opportunities for utilizing natural resources based on the latest technology, environmentally friendly energy sources, and others that can be done from each other's house.

Chapter 1 is about Measurement which encourages students to realize the importance of taking measurements carefully and precisely, and using appropriate measuring tools, so that this knowledge and skills can be used to solve problems in everyday life. Chapter 2 discusses viruses, how viruses reproduce and what role viruses play, so that students can find a solution to prevent the spread of viruses that cause disease. Chapter 3 contains a review of green chemistry which encourages students to recognize and realize the importance of green chemistry principles and green chemical reactions. This principle must always accompany all activities in industry, offices, schools, community activities and households.

Chapter 4 provides students with a foundation of chemistry, namely a review of theoretical concepts and calculations of the basic laws of chemistry that can be applied in solving simple problems that occur in everyday life. Chapter 5 provides insight into students so that they have curiosity about rare earth metal elements as nanomaterials in the development of nanotechnology. A review of theoretical concepts is discussed based on the perspective of chemistry, namely atomic structure, electron configuration, and atomic radius as periodic properties of elements.

Chapter 6 discusses the current energy demand crisis. With the insight that students have about the various forms of energy and energy sources available around the residence, they can be utilized to meet energy needs, at least for personal energy consumption. Apart from that, it is hoped that this insight into energy can foster a wise attitude in using energy, so as to have a more energy-friendly lifestyle. In chapter 7, students learn to understand that living things are diverse and the importance of diversity, grouping living things and interactions of living things in ecosystems so that students can find solutions for wise use of certain species to maintain ecosystem balance.

Hopefully this application can be useful and become a loyal friend in the teaching and learning process at all times.
