INTERCheck

INTERCheck is the prescription support system developed by the Mario Negri IRCCS Pharmacological Research Institute created with the aim of improving prescribing appropriateness in the elderly patient through a therapy evaluation approach that takes into account various aspects of geriatric pharmacology:

- Drug interactions (database of interactions created and updated by the IRCCS - Mario Negri Institute of Pharmacological Research).

- Potentially inappropriate drugs in the elderly according to different criteria of the scientific literature (Beers; START / STOPP; STOPP Frail).

- Evaluation of the anticholinergic load (Anticholinergic Cognitive Burden scale).

- How to discontinue drugs that require a gradual reduction in doses.

- Dosage of drugs in subjects with impaired renal function.

- GerontoNet ADR Risk Score, for the identification of patients at greater risk of adverse drug effects.

- Evaluation of the benefits and risks expected from drug therapy through the use of NNT & NNH

- Evaluation of the compatibility risk for drugs administered in ampoules

- Naranjo algorithm for the evaluation of the causal link between a drug and an adverse event.

- DIPS algorithm (Drug Interaction Probability Scale) for the evaluation of the causal link between adverse event and drug interaction.

The app allows you to register for the service, which is also available on the web at www.intercheckweb.it, and to manage your own list of patients, offering for each of them the evaluation of drug therapy and the aforementioned algorithms.
