What is the Bible?

The Bible is a testimony of God's actions in the world and His intentions for all creation. The Bible was written over sixteen centuries. More than forty authors worked on it. It is an amazing collection of 66 books, very different in style, all of which contain the message that God wanted to give us.

This collection contains an amazing variety of literary styles. It has many stories about the lives of good and bad people, about battles and journeys, about the life of Jesus, and about the activities of the early church. We read the Bible in the form of stories and dialogues, proverbs and parables, songs and allegories, stories and prophecies.

Bible stories were not usually written down as they happened. Rather, they were retold over the years before eventually being written down. However, the same themes can be found throughout the book. Along with diversity, there is also a sense of unity in the Bible.

So what is the Bible? In addition to all of the above, the Bible is:

A Guide to Living a Full Life. It serves as a signpost that helps us avoid the dangers of life's journey. Or, to put it another way, in our journey through the ocean of life, the Bible is an anchor.

It is a treasure trove of amazing stories for children and adults. Remember Noah and his ark? Joseph's multicolored cloak? Daniel in the lion's den? Jonah in the belly of the fish? The parables of Jesus? These stories highlight the triumphs and failures of ordinary people.

They are a refuge in trouble. People who are in pain, suffering, in prison, or in mourning tell how turning to the Bible has given them strength in their hour of despair.

The Bible helps us understand who we are. We are not mindless works, on the contrary, we are amazing creations of God who loves us and gives us purpose and destiny.

The Bible is a book of knowledge for everyday life. The Bible defines the standards of our behavior, the concepts of good and evil, as well as principles that help us in a turbulent society where so often "everything goes according to its custom."
