Ivy Whirl

Ivy Whirl is a one-thumb arcade game built around a single beautiful idea. A living vine of leaves orbits a glowing hub at the center of your screen. Petals, coins and gems drift in from every edge while sharp thorns try to pierce the hub. Your job is simple to describe and endlessly satisfying to play. Hold the left side of the screen and the vine spins one way. Hold the right side and it spins the other. Let go and the vine winds down gently. You guide the leaves to sweep up the good things and stand the leaves between the hub and anything dangerous.

The longer you survive the faster the garden grows. Thorns arrive more often, items come in from new angles and the vine has to keep pace. Catching a blue power capsule unleashes one of five effects. A dewdrop shield wraps the hub for a few seconds. A magnet pulls coins and blooms toward you. Slow time lets you breathe. A bloom bomb clears every thorn on screen at once. Double score rewards careful play with twice the points for a glorious window.

Coins earned in your runs carry over between sessions and can be spent in the shop on starting boosters. Equip the Fourth Leaf to add a permanent extra leaf to your vine. Equip the Golden Vein and the first stretch of every run pays double. The Slow Bloom booster lets you ease into a run in slow motion. The Dewdrop Shield begins each game with the hub already protected. Mix and match to suit your mood.

Every screen is tuned for a calm, immersive feel. The status bar stays out of the way so the garden fills your display. The pause and home buttons are large and friendly, so you can step away at any moment without losing your run. Best scores, coins and boosters are saved automatically, so you can return whenever a quiet moment finds you.
