Pawtrait is the camera app made for photographing pets — for the exact moment your dog or cat actually looks at the lens.
THE PROBLEM IT SOLVES
Anyone who has tried to photograph a pet knows the struggle: they look away right as you tap the shutter. Pawtrait fixes this with eleven real attention-grabbing sounds — a squeaky toy, a doorbell, two different cat meows, a puppy bark, a whistle, a crinkling treat packet and more — played instantly from the camera screen, right up until the moment you shoot.
YOUR FOUR FAVOURITES, ONE TAP AWAY
Pick the four cues that actually work on your pet and they sit either side of the shutter button. No menus, no scrolling, nothing between you and the shot.
RECORD YOUR OWN
Got a word or a noise your pet always responds to? Record it once and it sits alongside the built-in cues from then on.
BUILT FOR SPEED
No delay between the sound and the shot. Pawtrait fires the shutter instantly and supports rapid back-to-back photos, so you can keep shooting while you have their attention.
FOCUS THAT KEEPS UP
Pets move the instant you're ready. Pawtrait tracks focus as they shift around the frame, so a head turn or a step towards you doesn't cost you the shot. And when you'd rather decide for yourself, tap anywhere on the preview — a manual tap always takes priority and holds, then tracking picks back up a few seconds later.
MADE FOR THE MOMENT
Choose your pet's breed from 21 custom-illustrated mascots — sixteen dogs and five cats — and get a matching app icon on your home screen.
VIDEO, TOO
Switch to video mode for full-length recordings with the same attention-sound tools, front and back cameras, and real lens switching on phones that have more than one.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Every photo and video saves straight to your camera roll. There are no accounts, no feed and no ads, and Pawtrait cannot see or access your existing photo library. Nothing you capture — no photo, no video, no recording — ever leaves your device.
Pawtrait does send anonymous crash reports and two usage events (which breed is chosen, and which sound is played) so bugs get fixed and the right sounds get added. Nothing is linked to you, and nothing is shared with advertisers. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
MADE BY ONE PERSON
Pawtrait is built by a single developer in the UK. There's a "Request a sound" button in Settings — most of what's in the app got there because someone asked for it.
