Our History

Established in 1994, Carhartt Work In Progress (WIP) develops its own collections based on original Carhartt workwear, combining authentic adaptations of these robust American archetypes, while engaging with the subcultures that have embraced it. This, in turn, has seen the brand place itself in a new context and bring forth its own classics. With roots in music, skate, and subculture, Carhartt WIP explores archetypal styles and clothing essentials through its unique lens.

The Collection

Every Carhartt WIP collection starts with foundational items, such as chore-style jackets, work pants, and overalls, constructed in the brand’s signature Dearborn Canvas. References to the brand’s DNA appear throughout, in utilitarian details such as triple stitching, metal rivets, tool pockets, and hammer loops. Essentials such as jersey t-shirts, hoodies, and sweat shorts also feature prominently in the brand’s collections.

Additionally, items such as cargo pants, quilted liners, and multi-pocket parkas nod to the brand’s roots in functionality. Styles like sweater vests, varsity bombers, and loose-fit denim, meanwhile, embody a more casual air, in their relaxed, collegiate-inspired silhouettes.
