In case of cardiac-respiratory arrest (ACR) extra hospital the "gold standard", defined by international guidelines, is defibrillation within 3-5 minutes after the arrest, to reach a survival up to 50-70%. Early defibrillation (DP) may be obtained by rescuers (First Responder) through the use of defibrillators (AED - Automated External Defibrillator) public access or on site. The guidelines also recommend the use of innovative technologies to help the rapid deployment of rescuers for victims of cardiac-respiratory arrest (ACR) extra hospital.

The main objective of this project is to use the technologies available today to alert immediately and automatically lay personnel trained in the use of AEDs, the moment of activation of the emergency services from the Operations Center 118, which limits so the application time to defibrillation for victims of ACR.

The app, developed by the system 118 of Emilia Romagna in the context of the provisions of the Decree of the Ministry of Health of 18 March 2011, was therefore designed and built in order to promote and make more efficient use of AEDs on the territory by qualified lay persons (Firts responders - BLSD).

L 'app is fully integrated with the OPERATING CENTERS 118 of the Emilia Romagna Region and allows you to alert the people registered, which are nearby the event of Cardiac Arrest (ACR), the moment when the Operations Center 118 registers. Who receives the alert may then be available to intervene. The app shows on the map AEDs listed and available, depending on the time of consultation, and the location of the event on which to intervene.

The app also provides the opportunity to participate in the DAE in the area in the census system functions in a collaborative, optical, "reports a new DAE" and "Report a problem."

For every AED, in addition to the location, you can define availability (days, times) for more efficient localization in case of emergency, and also manage information concerning deadlines for maintenance, with the future goal of making more effective monitoring the presence of AEDs in the territory.
