Bangladesh Television (BTV) is a public service broadcaster under the control of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. It is the mouthpiece of the government and is responsible to the public for creating new programmes, disseminating objective and unbiased news. By ensuring education, entertainment and free flow of information, Bangladesh Television produces creative quality programmes and delivers objective and unbiased news for people of all classes, professions and ages.

As mass media, BTV upholds the spirit of the Great Liberation War and broadcasts 9 daily news bulletins including production and promotion of dramas, musical performances, dance performances, documentaries, magazines, religious programmes, discussion programmes, debate competitions and reality shows, giving importance to the interests and opinions of the audience. To meet audience demand, BTV broadcasts live major events including domestic and international cricket and football.
